Rob Dowie
Executive Director / Founder
Following his undergraduate studies as a business management major and graduate work as an MPA at LSU, Rob went on to found SELA Aquatics. As an American Red Cross Instructor Trainer, has certified hundreds of aquatics professionals in the gulf coast region. He has been teaching Red Cross courses since 2003, and has been training other instructors since 2005. Rob served on the Board of Directors for the Southeast Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross from 2005 through hurricane Katrina in 2009.

Alex Effinger
Director of Training
Alex has served SELA in the past as a facility and regional manager and now oversees the selection and training of all Lifeguard Instructors, coordinates all certification courses, and administers the in-service program and lifeguard audits in all regions. An Indiana native and LSU graduate, Alex serves to consistently improve the quality of SELA's training programs and is tasked with increasing lifeguard preparedness in the context of our management and training programs.

Christopher Lousteau
Director of Operations
Since beginning his aquatics career in 2004, Christopher has been a manager of lifeguards for several facilities. During this time, he has increased his aquatics safety education as a certified lifeguard instructor and water safety instructor. Christopher is a resident of New Orleans and received his Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Science from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2012. As Director of Operations, Christopher provides a variety of services to SELA Aquatics, including seasonal facility procedures, employee orientation, and personnel supervision.
Christian Bautista
Assistant Executive Director
A full time educator in the New Orleans area, Christian graduated from LSU with multiple degrees in Education, Music, and Psychology but also works in design and software development. Working with SELA Aquatics as Assistant Executive Director alongside his fulltime career, he works on both the visual brand and tech-related deployments for SELA including the website, scheduling and management software, HR system, and the industry's most cutting edge management software on Apple's iPad.

Robyn Barthel
Director of Human Resources
Joining the SELA team in the spring of 2011, Robyn has brought an array of skills and abilities to SELA since completing her Masters of Public Administration at Louisiana State University. Her primary work involves the expansion of SELA's new Pool Management Division, which provides a variety of aquatics services including lifeguard management, learn to swim programs, and full-service audits and in-services.
